President’s Letter

Our celebration of the best of Connecticut real estate brought out a large crowd on April 5 at The Connecticut Science Center – one of the largest our Blue Ribbon has ever had. And, what a cool venue! We were one of the first groups to experience the newly renovated Science Center atrium and it didn’t disappoint.

We are fortunate to have so many developers, private businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies interested in developing state-of-the art facilities, bringing to life obsolete buildings, creating appealing and functional employee work spaces, and places that entertain and enliven. Many thanks to our Blue Ribbon co-chairs, Lisa Chapman and Kelsey Rath and their entire committee for their tireless efforts to showcase the best real estate projects of 2016.

Mark your calendars and reach out to us to learn more about all of these offerings.

Happy Spring!

A large and enthusiastic crowd of members and guests gathered to view 20 nominated projects from around the state in this year’s Blue Ribbon program. Event co-chairs Lisa Chapman and Kelsey Rath commented that their committee members as well as the selection committee were “Impressed by the variety, quality, and superb design of projects entered. Not only did they look great, the completed projects fulfilled the programmatic requirements of the clients.” Projects ranged in size from historic restoration of a 600 s.f. room, to several major renovations exceeding one million s.f., to new construction of 90,000 s.f., in varied building types. Kelsey and Lisa continued, “Our committee worked tirelessly throughout the year and we thank them for garnering so many great nominees and attendees for the event.”

Thanks again to our event sponsors Lightower, Performance Environmental Services, vanZelm Engineers, CSG, and media sponsors New England Real Estate Journal and Hartford Business Journal.
